Fleet Tracking & Tracing
Know where your tanks are and where they’re going
One of the initial benefits SWT delivers for clients is 100% tank location visibility. SWT delivers this through its MultiTrac™ cloud-based asset management system and relationships with ports, shippers, and depots across the globe. An itinerary with defined checkpoints is generated for every container providing details on location, hold times, and travel times.
Specific Fleet Tracking & Tracing services include:
Trip Status Reporting:
Up-to-date information on tank asset location and status answers the questions: “where is my product” and “where is my tank”? Additional features include:
Global database of tank location and status
End-to-end tank trip tracking
Continuous tank status tracking
Trouble Reporting and Escalation:
Rapid identification of shipment delay, diversion, and other problems reduces demurrage and means that you will know of problems before your customers do.
Trip Creation and Tank Assignment:
Creating trips for one-time or long-term delivery commitments maximizes fleet efficiency.
Customer Tank Recovery:
Automatic messaging to customers means that they will know when it’s time for a tank asset to be picked up.
Order Fulfillment:
The ability to receive ERP generated sales orders allows SWT to assign the right tank asset to the product and trip.
Fleet Capacity & Planning
Have tanks ready to deliver product
SWT partners with clients to give them the information they need to keep their fleets moving better, faster, and at lower overall cost. SWT offers clients a variety of reports designed to improve fleet visibility and efficiency.
Specific Fleet Capacity and Planning services include:
Fleet Sizing and Performance Measurement:
The ability to analyze tank trip history provides you with critical performance and fleet sizing metrics. Additional features include:
Fleet Profile Database – What assets are you paying for? See a complete inventory of equipment properties, lease specifics, and certifications, which means you’ll always have your fleet’s capacities, age, and costs in one place.
Fleet Utilization Analysis – What is the right utilization for your fleet? Track month to month fleet usage and utilization. See seasonality trends, how the fleet is being used, and typical areas of delay.
Fleet Cycle Time Analysis - Where are your bottlenecks? Receive the critical data needed to determine how many assets you need for your portfolio of delivery points. Comparing cycle times vs. standard trip time identifies areas for improvement.
Fleet Turns Analysis – How many turns are you getting out of an asset during a year? Measure the efficiency of your entire tank fleet over time.
Tank Allocation:
Information needed to position fleet tank assets geographically maximizes the availability of tank assets when orders need to be fulfilled.
Fleet Service Management
Control fleet service costs
SWT maintains a complete document repository of all tank assets managed and a global database of tank depot repair costs which ensures that clients receive appropriate pricing for tank repair and certification. We do this because we typically manage the maintenance and recertification process for our clients’ tanks (in conjunction with an existing service management provider if applicable).
Specific Fleet Service Management services include:
Continuous Test Date Notification:
Proactive, timely notification of upcoming test dates allows clients to modify fleet scheduling to meet tank re-test requirements.
Total Repair and Maintenance Management:
Relying on SWT to manage fleet maintenance means you will always know the current and historical cost of maintaining and testing your fleet down to the depot and tank asset level. Plus, up-to-date tracking of maintenance progress provides you information to assess depot performance and determine when your tanks will be available for loading.
Repair Estimate Approval – Are you looking for ways to streamline your tank repair process? SWT can approve repair estimates based on client guidelines. These guidelines are jointly developed based on SWT’s global database of tank depot repair costs. Also, SWT can link to your ERP system to speed invoice approval and payment to depots.
Repair Cost Analysis – What are you spending on tank repairs? SWT provides clients with summaries of recurring tank repair items and costs which allows them to identify and manage recurring repair problems. You gain the information you need to control the cost of servicing your fleet.
Digital Certificate Document Management – Where do you keep your tank certificates? SWT’s digital tank certificates mean that proof of certification is available 24/7/365 globally.
